Our story
A classroom need became a shared mission
StorylineIQ was created by Robin and Chris Welch, a husband-and-wife team who bring together more than 20 years of classroom experience and decades of technology and leadership experience.
Why we built StorylineIQ
Robin Welch is a current educator who has spent more than 20 years teaching and supporting students. She knows that no student can be understood through a single grade, behavior incident, or data point. A student's story is found in everyday observations, small victories, emerging patterns, interventions, accommodations, and conversations with families.
The problem was not that these meaningful moments were missing. The problem was that educators rarely had an easy way to capture them, connect them, and communicate what they revealed.
Robin needed a better way to tell the complete story of her students. She needed something that could preserve what she was seeing, help support teams recognize patterns earlier, and turn classroom knowledge into clear, useful documentation without adding another burden to the school day.
That need became StorylineIQ.
Robin brought the classroom experience and an understanding of what educators genuinely need. Her husband, Chris, brought decades of technology and leadership experience. Together, they created StorylineIQ to help educators turn everyday classroom moments into meaningful, support-ready documentation.
StorylineIQ was not created to replace educator judgment or reduce students to scores. It was created to help the people who know students best preserve what they see, understand patterns over time, coordinate support, and ensure that every student's story is understood more completely.
Built from the classroom
Robin did not need another behavior tracker. She needed a way to connect observations, progress, interventions, accommodations, and family conversations into a story that could lead to better support.
- Give educators time back.
- Make meaningful documentation easier.
- Help schools recognize student needs earlier.
- Keep people, not technology, responsible for decisions.
- Ensure students are understood as more than a single moment.

Robin Welch
Educator and Co-Creator
Robin is a current educator with more than 20 years of teaching experience. Her classroom perspective is the foundation of StorylineIQ. The platform's focus on practical documentation, early visibility, meaningful student support, and tools that respect educators' time grew directly from the challenges she experienced while trying to tell the complete story of her students.
Chris Welch
Technologist and Co-Creator
Chris brings more than three decades of technology and leadership experience to StorylineIQ. He focuses on turning Robin's classroom insight into practical, secure, and dependable technology that helps educators and school leaders understand information and act on it while keeping human judgment at the center.
Chris is also the founder of Grit + Grace Leadership, where he develops leadership resources, books, speaking, coaching, and intelligent software around stewardship, wisdom, and human-led decision-making.
