Responsible Educational AI

StorylineIQ uses AI to help educators identify patterns, summarize information, and support decision-making.

Important principles

  • AI assists educators.
  • AI does not replace educators.
  • AI does not make disciplinary decisions.
  • AI does not assign grades.
  • AI does not determine special education eligibility.
  • AI does not determine student placement.
  • AI does not make high-stakes educational decisions.

How InsightIQ works

  • Evidence-based recommendations. InsightIQ summarizes teacher-authored notes, behavior logs, and recognitions — not inferences about students.
  • Transparent reasoning. Every insight links back to the specific records that informed it.
  • Explainable insights. Insights are written in plain language an educator can verify against the source records.
  • Human review required. AI output is presented as a draft for educator review — never used to take automated action.

Student data and AI

  • Student names are redacted before transmission to the AI provider and replaced with stable placeholders. The model provider never sees real student names.
  • The model provider does not train on customer prompts or outputs under our gateway's enterprise terms.
  • Students do not interact with AI directly. StorylineIQ is used by educators, not students.

Educator responsibility

Educators remain responsible for professional judgment and decision-making. StorylineIQ provides informational insights and recommendations. Schools and districts make decisions.
